Your Data Rights (GDPR)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights over the personal data we hold about you. This page explains how to exercise two key rights: requesting a copy of your data and requesting deletion of your data.
1. Request a Copy of Your Data
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is known as a Subject Access Request (SAR).
The data we may hold includes:
- Your name and email address
- Your account details and preferences
- Your art trail progress
- Prize draw entry details (if applicable)
To request a copy of your data, please email us at support@japeto.ai with the subject line "Subject Access Request". Include the name and email address associated with your account so we can identify your records.
We will respond to your request within one calendar month of receiving it. If your request is complex or we receive a high volume of requests, we may extend this by a further two months, but we will let you know within the first month if this is the case.
Your data will be provided in a commonly used, machine-readable format (such as CSV or JSON).
2. Request Account Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. This is also known as the "right to erasure" or "right to be forgotten".
When you request account deletion:
- Your account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted
- Your art trail progress will be removed
- Any prize draw entries will be withdrawn
- This action cannot be undone
To request deletion of your account and data, please email us at support@japeto.ai with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include the name and email address associated with your account.
We will process your request within one calendar month. We will confirm by email once your data has been deleted.
In some limited circumstances, we may need to retain certain data to comply with legal obligations (for example, financial records required by law). If this applies, we will explain what data is retained and why.
